What is the best way to use tea tree oil for acne? I picked up a small bottle of tea tree oil at the drug store because I heard that it's great for acne. How do I use it? Instructions say to apply it to the skin, so should I just do that with a cotton paid or something? And how about oral ingestion?
haifa replied: "I apply it directly to my skin with a cotton ball but it has a really weird smell so i put it on at night and leave it overnight while i sleep so no one has to smell it."
How do I use tea tree oil for acne treatment? I've heard and read that tea tree oil is effective for treating acne, but I'm not sure if it should be diluted or not. If so How do I dilute it so it won't make my skin worse? :)
Joe replied: "Tea tree oil is regarded as effective natural herb to deal with acne. Dilute the tea tree oil and apply it on the affected area of skin. This oil serves dual purpose, its anti-bacterial ingredients kill acne causing bacteria and secondly aids in unclogging your blocked pores. Read about more natural therapies for acne:
Four out of five people between the ages of twelve and twenty-five have acne, making it the most commonly diagnosed skin condition. I think if we get to know about acne, its always better than just going after applying some lotion or soap. "
Peggy replied: "see your dermotologist"
I have recently bought tea tree oil for acne 10ml how do i use it? How do i use the tea tree oil and apply to the acne that has darkened my skin?
Were can i buy glycolic acid from?
how long will it take for me to see changes in my complexion.
kegrilovessmu replied: "You just put a small amount straight on the problem areas. It's not really that effective though. Glycolic acid seems to work better."
tinkerbell replied: "Use a cotton bud and apply it neat, directly on to the spot or spots morning and night."
thelovebel0w replied: "Yes, as the other person said, pour a bit onto a cotton ball and rub that over the affected areas.
Be sure to ONLY use Tea Tree Oil on that area and no other medication because Tea Tree has a very strong astringent/drying quality to it. So after applying, feel free to use a lotion/moisturizer over it, but nothing else.
You could also look into (T.Dickinson's) Witch Hazel to apply over acne ridden areas. Helps reduce swelling, and acts as a gentle toner.
Best wishes!"
Lila replied: "I use it by applying it to a WET cottonball (be sure it's wet-straight undiluted tea tree oil can be bad) then diluting it even a little more by rinsing it under the tap. Then apply it directly to problem areas."
adam replied: "hmm basically for acne treatment u need to apply it on u skin for few hours a day and u can buy glycolic acid from any near pharmacy and u can see changes after a few weeks here are more about natural acne treatments at home"
? replied: "Hi,
Here is a list of common uses for Tee Trea Oil and how to apply.
Tea Tree Oil - Common Uses
Because of its many uses it has been referred to as a 'medicine cabinet in a bottle'. Here are just some of them:
1. Acne - apply pure oil to the blemish.
2. Insect bites, razor burn, lice, and dandruff.
3. Cold sores - apply pure oil directly to the sore.
4. Cuts/scrapes & abrasions - rub a few drops of pure oil into the cut. Do not use tea tree oil on deep cuts and wounds.
5. Nasal ulcers - drip 1-3 drops of oil onto a cotton swab and apply it directly to the affected area.
6. Toothache - drip a few drops directly into the cavity. Or drip a couple drops on your finger and rub the tooth and surrounding gum.
7. Sore throat/throat infection - gargle with 8-10 drops of tea tree oil diluted in half an ounce of water. Repeat two or three times within twenty minutes.
8. Ear infection - drip about three drops of tea tree oil into 5 ml of water. Fill a dropper with the solution and gently fill the ear with it. Hold it in the ear for half a minute and drain. Repeat several times a day or however often is necessary. Do not put pure tea tree oil into the ear. Also, rub pure oil onto the outer surface of the ear.
9. Boils - apply two drops to the boil daily for at least 1 month.
10. Ringworm - apply pure oil daily for at least one month straight. Make sure to do it every day or the fungus can build up a resistance to the oil.
11. Athlete's foot - apply pure oil directly to the feet, on a daily basis for at least a month to make sure the fungus is destroyed. In addition, you can drip several drops into a basin of water and soak the feet.
12. Canker sores - apply pure oil directly to the sore.
13. Oral hygiene - add one drop of oil to your toothbrush when brushing your teeth, or put one drop into the crease of your finger, run dental floss through it and floss.
14. Dandruff - add two or three drops to your shampoo.
So how do you use it? Simple. Just apply it directly onto the affected area of skin, a couple times a day.
A word of caution: Tea Tree oil is very pungent and potent. It should only be used externally, and sparingly. It should not be used on babies or small children. Keep it away from eyes and wash your hands after using it. If you find it too strong, try diluting it with water until you find a comfortable potency.

How do you use Tea Tree Oil for Acne? I bought a 30ml bottle of pure Tea Tree Oil. How should I use it for treating acne?
Mandy replied: "I used pure tea tree oil for a while. I Just applied it with a cotton ball after I cleansed my face. Left it on over night and would wake up and cleanse my face & moisturize. Everyone's skin is different though. Some may react differently if you do no t dilute it. I personally didn't have any other break outs affected by it.
Check out this website for instructions on how to dilute:

Can I use tea tree oil for acne while pregnant? Since I've been pregnant my skin has been breaking out.
I read that its not a good idea to use products that have Salicylic acid. Is tea tree oil a safe substitute?
Sabine replied: "This is what I found
Safety in young children, pregnant or nursing women, or those with severe liver or kidney disease has not been established.
What I would do is ask your doctor at your next appointment or call your doctor and ask what is safe and whats not. Good luck!"
Jojoba oil and tea tree oil for acne? I'm pregnant and experiencing problems with my skin. My dr. doesn't want me using salicylic acid so I'm looking into natural remedies. Does anyone have experience using jojoba oil and or tea tree oil? Does it help?
Alison replied: "You should give tea tree oil a shot. I had mild acne for a while and even tho I washed my face every night I still had acne. So I used tea tree oil and within a week my acne was pretty much gone except for a few spots here and there, which will fade soon too.
Tea tree oil can be used for any skin type even if you have very sensitive skin. And in that case I would dilute the oil with either water or aloe vera gel, which you can get at any drug store.
There are only two downsides to tea tree oil and that is that the smell is pretty strong, and it can dry out your face a little, which can be taken care of by using a moisturizer.
The oil can be found in any drugstore/grocery store/health store in the same isle as the finger nail polish remover for about $6. There are many different kinds but you can get whatever brand as long as it says 100% tea tree oil.
I would recommend putting it on at night before you go to sleep.
If you have any more questions there are many websites about this product, or feel free to ask me."
Nadine replied: "Tea Tree Oil is awesome. If you have a Trader Joe's near you, they have Tea Tree Oil Soap; two bars for less than $2. I won't use anything else on my face and everyone I know that has tried it won't use anything else either. My brother, my best friend, her teenaged daughter, and my co-worker who used to have horrible acne before she met me. I can't speak for all tea tree oil products but the TJ's soap owns."
tea tree oil for acne does it work directly? i bought a little bottle of tea tree oil at walmart today because i couldn't find the herbal blemish stick by burts bees and i saw the tea tree oil near the burts bees section. i used to use the herbal blemish stick but i ran out cuz my sis spilled it and i cant find it anywhere. one of the main ingredients was tea tree oil so i bought that and does just plain tea tree oil applied directly to the pimple work? or does it make it worse?
yochiel replied: "i found that it only worked for my "underneath" pimples. It helps the pimple come to the surface, and then makes it easier to get rid of. But be careful with that stuff, it's very potent so using too much can have an adverse affect on your skin."
? replied: "Some people say that it works. People make all kinds of suggestions about the best thing to do to cure acne. Some cures Ive heard include putting oatmeal, honey, lemon juice, tea tree oil, cucumber, vinegar, or toothpaste on your face. Practically every cosmetics company and company that makes personal care products makes something that is a sure cure for acne. If we think about this, and use some common sense, we have to come to the conclusion that there is no quick or easy cure for acne, because if there was it would be well known and doctors would be telling everyone about it.
Numerous companies make a lot of money persuading people to buy products that at worst will make the acne worse, and at best may help some people a little. Often fewer products are better. People often make their acne much worse by using too many products. There really is no quick fix for acne. Dont spend a lot of money on products just because their ads say that they will cure acne. Your doctor is the best person to ask for help, and he or she may recommend some prescription medication or non-prescription treatment that may be suitable for you..
There are some very simple and basic things you can do that cost nothing. Keep your face or any other area affected by acne very clean. Any mild antibacterial soap will help with that. Rinse the area well to remove all soap residue. Drink plenty of water it really does help to clear up acne. Eat a nutritious diet and get enough sleep. A healthy life style will make a difference. Try to reduce the stress in your life stress contributes to acne, so also probably the more you worry about the acne and focus on it, the worse it will be.
Probably the most useful and effective things you can do are to apply hot compresses to pustules and cysts and never to pick or squeeze pimples. Playing with or popping pimples, no matter how careful and clean you are, nearly always makes bumps stay redder and bumpier longer.

can johnsons baby lotion be used with tea tree oil for acne ? I recently got tea tree oil to help with my acne problem, I have oily and sensitive skin so I was wondering if Johnsons Baby lotion is a good lotion to use
crystyle08 replied: "try Aveeno products i used them on my daughter who had sensitive skin and it work wonders for her"
Faith replied: "You have the right idea but I really wouldn't suggest using baby oil because it is a petrolium product that could cause aggrivation and could end up making your acne worse by clogging up pores.
I recommend you try Oil Cleansing Method (OCM), it doesn't strip away natural oils so is healthy, reduces acne and heals scars. Mix half Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) to moisturize and half Castor Oil (CO) to cleanse, change mix as your skin changes, also try adding tea tree oil as it's antibacterial. Massage mix into your face, then put a hot face cloth onto your face for at least 1 minute, this opens up pores letting the oil cleanse. Wipe off oil, any trace amounts of oil are absorbed so skin won't be greasy. Have your own face cloth and towel, keep them clean and dry to avoid bacteria growth which can cause spots.
Or try using cosmetic vinegar as a cleanser which also promotes circulation, regulates skins pH and is antiseptic. Mix 500ml of apple cider vinegar, 3ml lavender essential oil, 3ml rosemary essential oil, 2ml rosewood essential oil, and 2 tablespoons glycerine. Place into a glass bottle, use as cleanser by adding 1 tablespoon vinegar to 1 cup of water. Again, try your tea tree oil in this too.
Moisturize daily, it's as important as cleansing, as long as it's not greasy it won't cause spots, but don't be scared to use oils such as Bio Oil which will heal scars too - try dropping your tea tree oil in there, remember oil is actually good for your skin."
Tea Tree oil-acne question? Anyone who uses tea tree oil for acne...do you think it's ok to use it all over my face? It says to put it on the affected areas but would it be ok to use it all over my face?
? replied: "It should be okay, however there are risks involved. Some people have acne breakouts after using tea tree oil. I currently use jojoba oil with no side effects - in fact, it works really well. It really depends on how your skin reacts to it, and we can't judge that for you.
"
Alex W replied: "It should be fine to use all over your face. I've used it on my back, face and chest. You might also try apple cider vinegar, it kills the bad bacteria that causes acne on your skin."
How do i apply/use tea tree oil on acne/pimples? I know you apply it with a q-tip or cotton ball or tissue.
but what do you do? do you leave it on there all night? or do you wash it off....?
also what type of acne can you use it on? just break outs or any kind of acne?
pls and thanks xox
an-G replied: "You just put some on a Q-tip and dab on your acne and leave it alone, its best to do it before you go to sleep. And yes you can use it on all types of acne and breakouts."
Jenny C replied: "Put a q tip in it. rub the oil on the acne. Leave it on all night. Also, this doesn't make sense, but it is sort of a non-oily oil. its not greasy"
Willard N replied: "I sometimes just end up beginning inexpensive and trying out a few different ones. Do what fits your situation and Im pretty sure your gut will be right."
